Our Application Process

To apply for a place at Woodhouse Grove school (2-18 years) fill out the online Application Form (below) or request a Prospectus and Application form to be posted out to you.
We are now taking applications for September 2019 entry.
Come and visit us at one of our Open Mornings or arrange an individual visit to get a real feel of the school and ask any questions you might have.
Entry to Bronte House and Ashdown Lodge (2-11yrs)
For children applying for Nursery or Reception places you will be invited to visit Ashdown Lodge and meet with our experienced Early Years team. Once we have received your completed Application from we will be in touch.
Entry to The Grove in Year 7
This will be followed by an invitation to an Interview with a member of our Senior Staff. This allows us to get to know each child individually and may also include an assessment of reading, verbal comprehension skills and numerical abilities. At this stage we will also apply for a report from each student’s current school.
Once an offer has been made the date of a Taster day will be sent out to you, this is a great opportunity to experience life at our school.
Entries to other Year Groups or throughout the academic year
Initially we will invite you to visit the school and fill in our application form.
Candidates will then be invited for a Taster Day which will include sitting our Entrance Exams in maths and English and an interview with one of our Deputy Headmasters. The rest of the day will be spent enjoying school life with the appropriate year group. At this stage we will also request a report from the student’s current school.
All applicants who wish to join us in the 6th Form will follow a similar process but will be invited into school to meet Mrs Ainscoe, Assistant Head (6th Form). An offer will be made subject to our entry requirements of at least 5 GCSEs grade 4 or above (including at least a 6/B grade in chosen A level subjects).
Overseas students are asked to complete the Application Form and get in touch with our Admissions Officer to discuss their specific situation.
