Members of the 1st XV were put through their paces by the U21 coach from the world-class South African rugby Academy, Natal Sharks. After a presentation from the Academy and Rugby Performance UK, former South Africa U21 coach and Currie Cup coach, Swys de Bruin, undertook a practical session with the boys which gave them an opportunity to see the attention to detail that South Africans place on their game, showing them different lines of running and passing techniques. In addition to being informative and enjoyable for the players, the session was also greatly appreciated by the Grove Rugby and Leeds Carnegie Academy coaches who were observing the action from the sidelines!

Grove players Tom Moody, Joe Harris and Oliver Hardaker were presented with commemorative pens by Hans Scribe, the Managing Director of Natal Sharks Academy, to mark their excellent performances during the session.

It is hoped that a number of our players will spend some time in Durban during 2010/2011 on the Natal Sharks Academy and Community Programme.
