Woodhouse Grove School

Another thumbs up from the Inspectors
Woodhouse Grove has a thriving boarding community and following the excellent inspection of Woodhouse Grove and Brontë House. We welcomed a small team from OFSTED for their statutory inspection of boarding and pastoral facilities. All boarding schools are regularly inspected to ensure that they comply with the legislative requirements, looking particularly at how the school is managed and how positive outcomes for boarders are promoted including their health, safety, achievements and contribution to school life.

The report highlighted a number of areas in which the school excels, such as the medical centre where ‘the school nurses provide an outstanding service to all pupil in promoting and safeguarding their health’, and the catering provision which ‘provides an excellent range of quality food at mealtimes’. The report confirmed that our boarders feel safe and are very well behaved, that our staff provide high standards of care and support and are very approachable and helpful. The report concluded by saying that the Grove has an outstanding range of sports, leisure and social activities for boarders and that the caring community ethos in the school helps pupils develop personally as well as academically.

David Humphreys said: “We are delighted with the results which were excellent and concluded that in all areas the school´s provision was rated as nothing less than good and in several areas the provision was rated outstanding!”
