The GraInge Pitch
The new flood lit all weather 3G pitch is now officiallly open and will be called the Grainge Pitch after George Leslie Grainge. Leslie was a desitinguished Old Grovian rugby player and International who made his name in the world of rugby league and retired from Rugby in 1940 having played 238 games and scoring a phenomenal 95 tries. His daughter Mary Webster officially opened the pitch on 9th March at the Dennis Shuttleworth Sevens Competition. The pitch is the first all weather "one turf" pitch in a school in the country that is accredited by FIFA and the IRB and is certified to play all variants of rugby and football up to and including International level. This fantastic facility, essentially driven through our new partnership with Bradford City FC, has already been put to good use and will prove a significant asset to the school and our players and partners.
