Our Application Process

We have tried to keep our Application Procedure as straight forward as possible. If you have any questions at all, please contact our Admissions Officer, Jo Amos.

To apply for a place at Woodhouse Grove school (3-18 years) fill out the online Application Form (below) or request a Prospectus and Application form to be posted out to you.

We are now taking Year 7 applications for September 2018. Once the application form has been received you will automatically be invited to take our Entrance Examination on Saturday 13 January.

Come and visit us at one of our Open Mornings or arrange an individual visit to get a real feel of the school and ask any questions you might have.

Entry to Bronte House

Once you have filled out the application form and visited the school it maybe suggested that the pupil attends a Taster day to experience life at Brontё House. Depending on the age of the child they may be required to sit maths and English tests or have a short interview with the Headmaster.

Entry to The Grove in Year 7

We invite all registered pupils for Year 7 to take our Entrance Exams in Maths and English in January.

This will be followed by an invitation to an Interview with a member of our Senior Staff. This allows us to get to know each child individually and may also include an assessment of reading, verbal comprehension skills and numerical abilities. At this stage we will also apply for a report from each student’s current school.

Once an offer has been made the date of a Taster day will be sent out to you, this is a great opportunity to experience life at our school.

Entries to other Year Groups or throughout the academic year

For entries throughout the academic year or for any year group other than Y7 we ask that you contact the school to discuss our application process.
Initially we will invite you to visit the school and fill in our application form.

Candidates will then be invited for a Taster Day which will include sitting our Entrance Exams in maths and English and an interview with one of our Deputy Headmasters. The rest of the day will be spent enjoying school life with the appropriate year group. At this stage we will also request a report from the student’s current school.

All applicants who wish to join us in the 6th Form will follow a similar process but will be invited into school to meet Mrs Ainscoe, Assistant Head (6th Form). An offer will be made subject to our entry requirements of at least 5 C grades at GCSE (including at least B grades in chosen A level subjects).

Overseas students are asked to complete the Application Form and get in touch with our Admissions Officer to discuss their specific situation.

If you have any questions regarding our Admissions Process, please contact Jo Amos, Admissions Officer.
